Morning Movers: Smith & Wesson Shoots Higher on Earnings Beat; Joy Global Drops on Disappointing Guidance

After yesterday’s losses, stocks are set to open little changed this morning.
S&P 500 futures have gained 0.03%, while Dow Jones Industrial Average futures have risen 0.03%.

Costco Wholesale (COST) has fallen 2.5% to $117 in pre-open trading after reporting a profit of 96 cents a share, below forecasts for $1.02.

Mastercard (MA) has gained 4.1% to $795 after the credit-card company boosted its dividend, announced a share buy-back, and said it would initiate a 10:1 stock split.

Scripps Networks Interactive (SNI) has gained on speculation Discovery Communications (DISCA) could be interested in purchasing the company.

Joy Global (JOY) has dropped 4.4% to $53.75 after reporting a profit of $1.11, missing forecasts for $1.12, and lowering guidance.

Smith & Wesson (SWHC) has gained 5.8% to $12.82 after the gun manufacturer announced a profit of 28 cents a share, beating forecasts for 21 cents.
